This is a rounded triangle, transparent obsidian, with its pretty glassy lustre. It's a dark brown-grey with several golden flake-like inclusions. Obsidian is igneous rock occurring as a natural glass formed by the rapid cooling of viscous lava from volcanoes. To expose the internal inclusions and as much as possible of the stone, I made a sterling prong setting for it that leaves the front and back exposed. It hangs from a sterling rolo chain. Treat yourself to this one-of-a-kind piece to wear now and forever or offer it as a special gift.
SIZE: This natural obsidian is about 37mm x 25mm (1 1/2" x 1") and the chain is 18" long.
FINISH: The silver has a soft, oxidized patina.
