This pendant necklace features a gorgeous robin's egg colored Leland Blue, a great “recycled” material from northern Michigan. It is actually glass slag, a byproduct of smelting iron ore. The slag was was dumped into lake Michigan in the late 1800s. The blue is quite rare and is the most highly prized color. This pendant really makes a beautiful statement and is completely one of a kind!
SETTING: It has a fine silver and sterling bezel setting with a narrow border. It has a drawn sterling bail and jump ring at the top. The pendant hangs from a beautiful, sterling wheat chain that closes with a spring clasp.
SIZE: This stone measures about 32mm x 32mm (1 1/4" x 1 1/4") and the pendant is 46mm (1 7/8") tall, including the bail, and 37mm (1 1/2") wide. The chain is 16" long.
FINISH: I oxidized the silver for a soft patina.
