Peruvian Blue Opal Ring Size 9.75
This is a lovely, high-domed natural Peruvian blue opal, also known as Andean Opal. Peruvian Blue Opal can only be found in the Andes. It's the national stone of Peru. It’s a translucent stone that resembles the colors of the Caribbean. And this one is all that, with black and beige inclusions that seem to be floating in the sea.
I feature it in a bold statement ring with a definite boho feel. I set it in fine silver and sterling on a wider sterling band imprinted with a zigzag pattern.
SIZE: The stone is 26mm x 19mm (1" x 3/4") and about 15mm (1/2") high. The band is 7mm (1/4") wide. It's a size 9.75, but fits smaller due to the wider band. More like 9.25.
FINISH: I gave the silver a soft, grey patina, which contrasts beautifully with the blue, translucent stone.
