Time to take up space again
Share
So often, women are conditioned to believe that, as they age, they must become more muted, less visible and basically take up less space. I think this is ridiculous, as do many of my customers!
Why not approach aging as something to celebrate with fun, color, boldness and being seen for the unique, interesting, accomplished women we are? The jewelry I design and hand-make is all about supporting that cause.
At 67, I feel better equipped, more decisive, and more capable than I ever did when I was younger. Maybe that's what led me to pivot from my writing and editing career at 51 to do what I'd always dreamed of doing: making jewelry full time. If not then, when?
I quickly realized that many of my contemporaries felt ignored by mainstream fashion and jewelry retailers. So I began creating bold, colorful, unique, quality jewelry that would help us reclaim our space and express who we are. What a fun, inspiring task it's been! I've loved every step of the way and in the process have connected with thousands of incredible women who choose fun and color over invisibility.
Are you with me on this? I'd love to hear your take on aging! Just leave it in the comments.
