There are so many styles of jewelry out there, from delicate and petite to chunky and rustic, to colorful and bold. It can be confusing and overwhelming taking it all in. So how do you decide what's for you, with the massive selection available?
As with clothing and fashion, I say we should wear the jewelry that makes us feel great and most like ourselves! Often, you'll know it when you see it. But not always. So many people get stuck on "rules" about dressing your age, colors and styles you should be wearing. The reality is, it's entirely your choice! Only you know what makes you feel most authentic and happy.
When I'm designing and making jewelry, I try to ignore trends and make things that make me happy. I know my style (i.e. what makes me happiest) is colorful, big, slightly rustic metalwork, revolving around unique stones. My jewelry is collected by women (mostly) who share this particular aesthetic, because it makes them feel great, too! And nothing makes me happier than being able to share my work with these wonderful people!
At the end of the day, don't worry about trends or rules. Wear the jewelry that makes you happy. You'll never regret it and will look forward to wearing it each and every time!
