Sterling and Glass Trade Bead Fibula Brooch

Fibulas are such a wonderful, simple form for a brooch. They can be not so simple, too. They are essentially a safety pin-like clasp used especially by the ancient Greeks and Romans to fasten garments. Today, you can adorn yourself with a modern version as a brooch, or use them to fasten scarves or shawls.
