I’m Carla, the designer and metalsmith at Le Chien Noir Jewelry. I create one-of-a-kind jewelry for women who consider unique jewelry part of their signature style. I’m so happy you’re here!

Have you ever put things off because you thought it was too late to make them happen? I did. For many years, I was a writer and editor. But I always ached to get back to jewelry-making, since falling hard for it in my first class years ago. 

At 52, I enrolled in some refresher courses, picked up my torch and hammers again, and stepped into my full-time jewelry life. That was 12 years ago. I highly recommend following your dreams!

The best part is creating one-of-a-kind jewelry for my wonderful clients worldwide. Much of my inspiration comes from the nature I live in, in rural Quebec. Another huge part comes from you, my lovely customers, who collect my work and get the intention and care I put into it. I appreciate you more than I can express!

If you're new here, you'll find minimalist, clean design with a slightly rustic edge. My pieces are easy-to-wear and versatile. They work for everyday as well as dressier looks. The gems and metals I use are ethically sourced and/or recycled. I continually work to hone my skills to make the best quality little works of art you can enjoy for years to come!
