Ring Size Guide
Finding Your Perfect Fit
Each Le Chien Noir ring is handcrafted to a specific size. Because rings cannot be resized, we want to make sure yours feels just right from the moment it arrives. Here's everything you need to find your size with confidence.
How to Measure Your Finger
Method 1 — The String or Paper Strip Method
- Gather your materials. Cut a thin strip of paper (or use a piece of string or dental floss) about 15 cm (6 inches) long.
- Wrap it around your finger. Wrap the strip snugly around the base of the finger you plan to wear the ring on. The fit should feel comfortable — not tight.
- Mark the overlap. Use a pen to mark where the strip meets itself, forming a complete circle.
- Measure the length. Lay the strip flat and measure from the end to the mark in millimetres. This is your finger's circumference.
- Find your size. Use the chart below to match your circumference to your US ring size.
Method 2 — Measure an Existing Ring
- Choose a ring that already fits the correct finger well.
- Place it flat on a ruler and measure the inner diameter (the inside of the ring, from edge to edge) in millimetres.
- Match the diameter to the chart below.
Pro Tips for an Accurate Measurement
- Measure at the end of the day — fingers tend to be slightly larger in the evening.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are cold or hot; temperature changes finger size.
- If you are between two sizes, we recommend sizing up.
- For wider band rings (anything 4 mm or more), consider going half a size up — wider bands fit more snugly than narrower ones.

A Note on Wider Bands
Many of our rings feature substantial stone settings and wider bands that hug the finger more closely than a simple solitaire. If the product description notes a band width of 4 mm or greater, we recommend ordering half a size larger than your measured size for the most comfortable wear.
